When I returned home from work today, Kane was waiting behind the gate. Just like yesterday. This time, I opened the gate and let him out the front and he came back inside the house through the front door.

Then we were out again, on our walk around the small block. I hadn't been timing it lately, but today, it was 25 minutes. Kane is slowing down. The walk used to take 10 minutes, then more lately 20 minutes. One day, even that short distance will be too much for him. Poor puppy.
