a loud bark

Emily came around this evening and something amazing and wonderful happened.

Kane barked. Not just a little yip, but a really nice and loud deep bark. Twice. He had never barked before. Such a nice greeting at the door. Kane has never barked when I return home. He must like Emily better.

Emily has a sore back, so I took Kane for a walk to Macquarie oval. Along the way, we met up with Jack the Jack Russell Terrier and his person Doug. At the oval, Jack and Bronte were there, along with another black dog who looks like a fatter Jake. Unfortunately, they left soon after.

A small fawn coloured Staffordshire Terrier cross called Scully bounded over from the other side of the oval, without a person in sight. She was such a friendly little dog and presented herself submissively. Anyway, Doug and I decided we'd better leave so that Scully would go home on her own accord.
